The 2014 Canadian Cross Country Championships take place tomorrow at Jericho Beach in Vancouver, British Columbia. The London Runner Distance Club will be represented by four athletes for this, the final of four consecutive years at the Vancouver location. Paul Roberts will kick things off for the club at 10:45am (Pacific) in the Masters 8k race. Paul has supported the London Runner Distance Club since it was founded in 2006 and his store - New Balance London - along with Runners' Choice London are major sponsors of the club and its elite London New Balance Racing Team. The three Senior athletes representing LRDC in Vancouver are all members of the London New Balance Racing Team and will be aiming to represent London and area with strong performances tomorrow.
Leslie Sexton will compete in the Senior Womens 8k (1:40pm start) for the fourth year in a row as a member of the London Runner Distance Club. She achieved her best placing ever at the 2013 event, where she came 10th and was selected to the Canadian Cross Country Team. Also competing for the fourth consecutive year at the Canadian Cross Country Championships in Vancouver, Kyle O'Neill also qualified for the National XC Team last fall with his excellent 6th place finish at the Championships - his best ever placing at this event. Kyle will be joined by teammate Josh Morrison in the Mens 10k race, scheduled for a 2:30pm start. Josh managed a top-50 placing at this event in 2012. All three Senior athletes will look to achieve top-25 placings in what promise to be very strong fields.
