Saturday, December 27 2014 - 10 Mile Record Ends a Strong 2014

On December 26th in Hamilton, Ontario, Leslie Sexton defended her Boxing Day 10-mile title and produced the fastest time by a woman in the 94-year history of the event. Clocking 56:05, Sexton set a personal best by nearly 2 minutes and took over 1 minute off the existing event record of 57:12. As with 2013, the Boxing Day victory provided a final highlight in an exciting 2014 for both Sexton and the London Runner Distance Club. Other 2014 highlights, with a focus towards Senior/Open competition, include:

February: Kyle O'Neill and Leslie Sexton compete as part of the Canadian Cross Country team at the NACAC Championships

May: O'Neill and Sexton set club records at London 10,000m, with Sexton winning (Ontario Champion) in 33:14 and O'Neill 4th in 29:53; they would both go on to medal at the Canadian Championships over 10,000m
June: William Stewart set TVDSB Open Boys records for 800m in 2:09.78 and 1,500m in 4:31.16
